Never judge a book by its cover, but by the Que of local people from 10am through past 12 every day of the week. This place is old school hearty food, made by lovely ladies and their manners. You’ll be a fool to walk on by.

Such a great little local bakery. I called in today 11th march 2025 at approx 10am and the young lady who served me was delightful. Smily and so polite. And as ever the pies were delicious. I must have been coming to this bakery (originally woodburn’s) for 40years and the food is consistently good. Never change please!

The Penwortham Over 60s Club would like to thank Dave of The Upper Crust Craft Bakery on Liverpool Road, Penwortham for his very generous gift of pies and pasties for the social the club held on Friday, 24 March. They were absolutely delicious. Once again, thank you Dave for your generous donation.
Without doubt my favourite Sandwich shop IN THE WORLD!! Everything is nice, the Sandwiches are massive and pretty well priced, that's why there is normally a queue out the door. The club sandwich could feed a family of 4 almost.

Plastic free shopping for bread (loaves are great, crusty and can have them sliced). Brown and white balms are just the best, can be frozen and great when defrosted. Ginger bread and shortbread great too. I can't recommend this place enough, all of that, plus friendly staff, and no plastic packaging in sight!! (Unless you ask for it!)
Lovely traditional bakery and cheap. I couldn't believe I got a selection of 4 pies for just £6 odd.

Everyone who works here is so polite and lovely and I can't believe how cheap it is! I'd choose an Uppercrust Bakery cake over a Laythoms cake everytime!! Plus it would be a quarter of the price and it'd taste 10times more delicious! We've always been big advocates for supporting local businesses and Uppercrust Bakery is by far the BEST, we wouldn't dream of going anywhere else!!Amazing bakery. Everything home made. Very reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Cherry shortbread amazing, so are their flapjacks. Would fully recommend, you won't be disappointed 😊.
10/10 Absolutely top notch service, banter and scran ! Prawn Mayo Brown Baton + Vegetable & Cheese Lattice Pastie where immense. Cheers ! :)

Great bakery, food is always top 👌 sometimes the queue can be slightly large but that's a testament to how good the place is, well worth the wait
